英BBCが励ましのラジオ番組

英BBC放送が東日本大震災の被災者を励ますために特別制作したラジオ番組が、22日未明、被災地を含むTOKYO　FM系列で放送される。日本でラジ オの仕事に携わった経験を持つ英国人女性の働き掛けをきっかけに、BBCのパーソナリティーや「レ・ミゼラブル」などの舞台製作で知られるキャメロン・ マッキントッシュさんら著名人が無報酬で協力した。
BBCがボランティアでこうした番組を制作するのは異例という。激励メッセージと音楽でつづる1時間番組で、午前1時からオンエアされる。
女性は、現在2児の母となったシボーン・イークさん（44）。1998年まで約6年間の日本滞在を通じ、「こんなに親切で温かい国は他にない」と言うほどの親日家になった。
ロンドン郊外の自宅で大震災の報に接し、テレビに映し出される津波被害の様相に息をのんだ。今の気持ちを届けたい。そう考えていたところ、95年の阪神 大震災の際、東京で心細さを感じながらも、ラジオから流れるメロディーや声に癒やされたことを思い出し、旧知のBBCプロデューサーに話を持ち掛けた。
プロデューサーは番組制作を即断し、趣旨に賛同したマッキントッシュさんや歌手のリリー・アレンさんらの協力を得て特別番組「フロム・ザ・UK・ウイズ・ラブ〜ガンバロー！　」にまとめた。
番組はアーティストら18人のメッセージと12曲で構成。イークさんも励ましの言葉を寄せており、全国27局でCMなしで放送される。イークさんは「困難な状況に直面している日本の皆さんを勇気づけるのに少しでも役立てば」と話している。

慈善試合を主催する中田英寿氏の活動にイギリス誌が注目

元日本代表MFの中田英寿氏がシンガポールで開催する慈善試合「TAKE ACTION in シンガポール」について、イギリス誌『FourFourTwo』が報じている。

イングランドのボルトンでプレー経験のある中田氏の活動は海外でも注目されている。アジア年間最優秀選手に2度選ばれた中田氏が、元日本代表MFの前園 真聖氏や澤登正朗氏、アルビレックス新潟・シンガポールの選手らとともにチームを組み、シンガポールリーグでプレーするシンガポール人選抜と対戦する。同 誌は試合の概要について触れ、大災害に見舞われた母国日本のために中田氏が立ち上がっていると紹介。

中田氏の、「日本国民として、国のために何か自分ができたらと思っている」というコメントを掲載し、活動の意義について報じている。また先日、中田氏が参加した台湾のチャリティーで約21億円の義援金が集まったことも掲載している。

The thoughts and prayers of everyone at ATP are with our Japanese friends both new and old as they recover in the aftermath of the recent disaster. ATP urges you to support the victims of the Japanese disaster - today we announce a Benefit Concert at London's Kentish Town Forum - all of the profits from which will go to the Japanese Red Cross and will be used towards helping the Japanese people recover from this devastating natural disaster over the coming months and years.

The event has a stunning line-up featuring Squarepusher (playing a special improv/jam set), LFO and Fuck Buttons as well as guest DJs Declan Allen and N>E>D. Everyone who buys a ticket to the benefit, will receive a code to receive a new exclusive Autechre track, '6852'. Codes will be sent out from Monday onwards with details on how to redeem it. Art for this event has been generously donated by Tim Biskup - giclee posters (produced free of charge by http://www.jealousgallery.com) will be on sale at the event with all profits going to the Japanese Red Cross. At the show we will also be holding a raffle in which prizes like ATP festival chalets, Spiritualized box sets and other ATP prizes, plus music from labels including Warp, Matador and EMI will be up for grabs - every raffle ticket bought wins a prize and all proceeds go to the Red Cross.
